Every time you take a step away from divinity you move into a field of opposites.

ABOUT THIS COURSE

We are all impacted by the flaming polarizations in the world today. It can seem hopeless to find external resolution, and it can heighten our feelings of isolation and lack of safety.

When we explore our own internal landscape, we find that our Parts very often come in pairs. we intend to work hard yet we procrastinate, we want to be healthy, yet we eat junk. We are indecisive, we vacillate, we judge ourselves and then defend against our own judgments. Our opposing parts each dance to their own tune.

IFS has powerful ways of understanding this dynamic of polarization. This class will explore different types of polarization and three ways to resolve it. We will also explore the impact of living in a polarized world.

We will ask together:

  • Can we consciously work on our capacity for grounding, so our roots are deep, and we are less swayed by the winds of conflict and despair.
  • Can we transfer this learning into creating space with others and feeling less conflicted ourselves?
  • Is there a way to settle into an expanded Self that can hold our internal polarizations compassionately?
